Marine Corps Helicopters - The AH-1 Cobra
The United States Marine Corps has a long and proud history of operating helicopters and developing, and implementing helicopter tactics. The Marines began developing helicopter assault tactics after WWII. In the Korean and Vietnam Wars, they put their theories to the test, improving what worked and altering or discarding what didn't.
The Marine Corps of today is a highly effective, highly mobile fighting force. They owe a great deal of their mobility to helicopters and the Marine aviators who developed and perfected present day tactics.
The Marines use a variety of helicopters to perform their mission. One of them is the Bell AH-1 Cobra.
The current Cobra, the AH-1Z, derives from a long line of Cobras that began with its introduction in the mid 1960's. In the early days of Vietnam, another Bell design, the UH-1 Huey, was making a name for itself in the rice paddies, jungles, mountains and river deltas of Southeast Asia. The Huey was used to insert and extract troops. It became evident that an armed helicopter was needed to escort troop carrying helicopters (commonly called slicks) into landing zones were resistance was expected. Initially, this role fell to UH-1 Hueys modified to carry rocket and gun pods. The Huey was not a purpose built gunship. It lacked sophistication especially in its targeting system, which consisted of grease pencil drawn crosshairs on the windscreen.
The Cobra was the first purpose built gunship to enter production. It immediately made its presence felt. It's ability to accurately target and engage enemy forces made it an ideal platform for operations in the varied environments of Vietnam.
The Marine Corps version of the Cobra was the AH-1J Sea Cobra. It had two engines, which provided an extra layer of redundancy when operating from naval vessels.
The Marines currently operate a mix of AH-1W "Whisky" Model Cobras and AH-1Z Vipers. The Whisky models were sought because earlier models were not navalized (built to withstand the harsh, damaging, and corrosive effects of the salt water/salt air environment.)
The AH-1W is able to operate day or night in marginal weather. Some of its missions include armed escort, armed reconnaissance, target identification and marking, and anti-armor warfare.
The AH-1Z improves on the AH-1W by adding a four bladed rotor system in place of the two bladed system used on previous models. This increases flight performance and expands the performance envelope of the helicopter. In addition the aircraft will receive a new night targeting system and a cockpit upgrade to improve situational awareness and reduce pilot workload. The AH-1Z upgrade is expected to be completed in 2013. The Marine Corps plans to upgrade 190 Cobras to the AH-1Z standard.
The Cobra has been in operation with the Marine Corps since the mid 1960's and will remain in operation for the foreseeable future. Its longevity is a testament to the design and engineering team at Bell in concert with the Marine aviators that fly and fight it.

How to Buy Perfect Dress Shoes
Wouldn't it be nice to have dress shoes that are also comfortable? This is not as imposable as you may think. Armed with only a few of the tricks fashion experts know, you too can find drop-dead gorgeous evening shoes that you can wear all evening at no cost to your feet.
What is the perfect dress shoe? I think you would agree that it should make your feet look sexy and elegant, match your evening outfits and be comfortable for walking and dancing.
The reason most women think of wearing dress shoes as a sacrifice for the sake of beauty is because 80% of special occasion shoes really are uncomfortable. But since they want to look their best for the prom, wedding or evening banquet, most women will put up with sore feet. You don't have to, though.
Here are several tips that will help you find the "perfect" evening shoes:
All dress shoes have heels. Of course - high heels make your legs look longer and slimmer, make your feet look sexy and force you to keep good posture. However, you don't have to wear 4-inche heels to get all these benefits. Go for kitten style heels - about 2-inches high. They are more stable and comfortable.
Another way to get comfortable heels is to choose wedge-heel shoes. Even if the heel is high, they are easy to walk in and you probably won't even feel the height. By the way, wedge heels are quite fashionable this year.
About 50% of evening shoes are made from fabric but, if you can afford it, always go for genuine leather shoes. Quality leather has an amazing ability to adjust to the shape of your foot and always feels better than synthetics.
Get your outfit first and match the shoes to it; don't do it the other way around. It will be very difficult to find a color that would match perfectly, though, so go for a color that is complementary. Black evening shoes are classic - they work with any dark colored outfit. If your dress is in a pastel color, try ivory shoes; soft, warm ivory usually works better than pure white.
Avoid straps; they might be sexy but they're also a pain.. Instead, choose dress shoes with a longer, enclosed toe. This style always look very elegant.
Go for shoes with a soft, cushioned upper lining. A leather lining is preferable. If your perfect shoes have a very hard sole, get cushioned comfort inserts; they're sticky on one side, for attachment to the sole of your shoe. Most online and traditional shoe stores sell them.
Make sure the shoes are your correct size. Shoes that are too small or too big will never feel comfortable on your feet.
So you see, it's possible to get and wear beautiful evening shoes without suffering. Keep these tips in mind, when you shop for dress shoes, and your next purchase should make you very happy.

What is an In-Force Life Insurance Policy?
Financial reports often make reference to in-force Insurance Policies. What is an in-force life insurance policy?
In-force Insurance refers to the total dollar amount of insurance that has been issued by the company. It is usually measured as the sum of the face value of the policy plus the dividends that have been issued. This is an important figure for several reasons. The face values of an Insurance policy actually represent potential payouts. Often, when reviewing a financial report, we are told the total assets of the Company. When we hear that an Insurance Company has 1 trillion dollars in In-force Insurance Policies, we might be tempted to view that as an asset.
This is not true. The Insurance Company has assets, of course, like any other Corporations, but the In-force Insurance total is not included in them. It is also not a liability. It is a separate figure that is not involved in the basic balance sheet of the Company. The dollar amounts exist only as potential.
Still, the figure is often used when discussing the size of an Insurance Company. It could be viewed in this respect as more of a sales figure than anything else. An Insurance Company is in business to sell policies so the In-force figure would represent success in their sales efforts. An online information source lists MetLife, a major Insurance Company, as having over 2 trillion dollars in In-force Insurance.
While this figure obviously marks MetLife as a major Insurance provider that figure does not have a lot of meaning when standing alone. It indicates a lot of sales success, but does not necessarily indicate financial stability or investment expertise. When you are going to attempt to rate an Insurance Company, those two areas would be a bit more telling in your analysis.
While the In-force Insurance Policy figure is often impressive, it does not have a lot of impact on the ratings of Companies given by the major rating companies. Remember that Insurance is one of the most competitive of all financial services. Competition always tends to benefit the consumer and this is certainly the case in Life Insurance. This benefit can only be realized by an informed client, however. Your Insurance Agent will be able to give you a lot of figures and offer a lot of different packages to meet your Insurance needs. If you are armed with a bit of knowledge such as the relative merits of the In-force Policy total, you will be better able to make the right decision.

ASVAB Pretest - The Ultimate ASVAB Study Tool
If you're starting a career in the military or just looking to get some good job training courtesy of the government the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test is the most important test you're going to take. Not only will it decide if you qualify for enlistment but also for what job training you qualify.
If you're looking for the best way to prepare yourself for the ASVAB it's hard to do better than taking an ASVAB pretest. Not only do these tests help you build your knowledge of the subject matter that the ASVAB covers but they also help you overcome a crippling problem that affects many test takers - test anxiety.
It will be easier for you to overcome test anxiety if you're not heading into the ASVAB test cold - facing questions and question formats that you've never seen before. If you've taken several ASVAB pre-tests in the days leading up to your actual test date you'll be very comfortable with the style and content of the questions you'll be asked and much better able to recall what you've studied.
In fact, one of the things that few people realize about the ASVAB is that it's not designed to test your knowledge at all - it's designed to test your ability to solve problems and solve them under stressful situations - like a nine-part timed test that will determine the course of the next four years of your life! Knowing this it just makes sense to eliminate as much of the stress of test day as possible through good study habits and being as familiar as you can with the test before going in.
Fortunately there are many ASVAB pretests available both in printed form from your recruiter and a few websites that offer online practice tests as well. Do yourself a favor and take a few - it will be the best study time you spend!

Republic of India January 26, 1950
After Independence, January 26th, 1950 is one of the most important day in Indian history as it was on this day the constitution of India came into force and India became a truly sovereign state called as Republic Of India. The country finally realized the dream of Mahatma Gandhi and the numerous freedom fighters who, fought for and sacrificed their lives for the Independence of their country. So, the 26th of January was decreed a national holiday and has been recognized and celebrated as the Republic Day of India, ever since.
On this Day the Constitution of India came into force, and India declared itself as a "Indian Republic" on January 26, 1950. The Constitution had been prepared by the Constituent Assembly which was set up upon India gaining its independence from the British in 1947. This, in fact, was a deliberate act: the 26th of January was initially India's "Independence Day", one of Mahatma Gandhi's many symbolic acts during India's Freedom Struggle against the British colonial rule, and the adoption of the Constitution on this date was felt able to strengthen its initial meaning, one calling for Indians of all ages to declare their freedom from the British Raj.
On January 26, 1950
In the capital, Delhi, the day began with the 34th and last Governor-General of India, Chakravarti Rajagopalachari, reading out a proclamation announcing the birth of the Republic of India. The new President, Dr Rajendra Prasad, then took the oath of office.
Dr Prasad was a key campaigner in the nationalist movement of Mahatma Gandhi, along with India's interim Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
The president then addressed the crowd first in Hindi, and then in English.
"Today, for the first time in our long and chequered history," he said, "we find the whole of this vast land... brought together under the jurisdiction of one constitution and one union which takes over responsibility for the welfare of more than 320 million men and women who inhabit it."
Indian Republic Day Today ..
Republic Day is India's great national festival. It is celebrated every year on January 26, in New Delhi with great pomp and pageant and in capitals of the States, as well as at other headquarters and important places with patriotic fervor.
The most spectacular celebrations include the march past of the three armed Forces, massive parades, folk dances by tribal folk from the different states in picturesque costumes marking the cultural unity of India. Further, the streak of jet planes of Indian Air Force, leaving a trial of colored smoke, marks the end of the festival. The trees on both sides of the routes and the lawns become alive with spectators.
The President of India at New Delhi, on this most colourful day, takes salute of the contingents of Armed Forces.
The Republic Day celebrations have rightly become world famous as one of the greatest shows on earth drawing thousands of eager sight-seers from all over the country and many parts of the world. No other country can draw on such a wealth of tribal traditions and cultures, so many regional forms of dances and dress.
Summary: India Became Republic Of India On January 26, 1950 and that day is celebrated as Indian Republic Day all over.

What is a Libertarian?
There are many things said about Libertarians in America, much of which is contradictory. Some say they are "right-wing" or "conservative" yet in the same breath talk about how they are anti-war and, often times, against federal abortion law in either direction, still others are pro-choice and almost all are for legalizing most if not all drugs. Others will talk about how Libertarians are against laws that would mandate marriage to be between a man and a woman yet are also against a national health care program. Libertarians are against new taxes, income taxes, sales taxes and, it seems, anything with the word tax in it (taxidermists and taxicab drivers beware). It may seem confusing where all these "crazy" Libertarians come up with their ideas, they always seem to be against something, everything at times. The most vociferous of Libertarian minded individuals in government, Congressman and recent 2008 Presidential candidate, Dr. Ron Paul, votes against so many bills he has been given the nickname "Dr. No". Why does it seem that Libertarians are against everything? Just for "shits and giggles", why don't we ask, what are Libertarians for?
To answer this question, all one has to do is look at the name. Wrapped tightly inside the word you will find its root and from that root can be discerned the basis for all Libertarian politics. Liberty. Libertarians believe, above all else, in the freedom of the individual from being forced into participating in anything against their will. It is the Libertarian's belief that any interaction that an individual takes part in must be voluntary. You may do whatever you like outside of that which would impart harm or force upon another.
Given this philosophy of the individual and her freedom from being forced to take part in any activity, it would be safe to assume that this ban against force would apply not just to other individuals but to government as well. Libertarians are not against income tax because they hate poor people, they are not against health care because they hate old and sick people, they are not against regulating the actions of a man in business because they like big business, they are not against suicide bans because they want to see everyone kill themselves, not against drug prohibitions because they want to see everyone using drugs and they are not against abortion bans because they hate babies or mothers, these notions are nonsense. Libertarians are against income tax, abortion law, business regulation, suicide bans, drug prohibition and national health care all for the same reason, because these all require force.
When government does these things, they force people against their will, as sure as a rapist, killer or armed robber. It is the belief of Libertarians that if you care for the plight of the poor, it is up to you to give of your own money and to convince others to give voluntarily as well. It is the belief of the Libertarian that convincing ten thousand people of the necessity of solving a problem is far more effective than forcing a million to pay for it. The collective powers of a million passionate minds is far more efficient than involving governmental force when solving social and environmental issues.
To be for liberty sure does put you against a lot of things.

World War 2 Stories - What They Can Teach Us About Heroes
Every once in a while a book manages to burrow its way into my mind and I can't make it go away. The Hellish Vortex is that kind of book. It didn't start out that way. As a matter of fact, when I first looked at the cover I thought, Gee, this is a book about a young fighter pilot in World War II. I was a young fighter pilot back in the dark ages and flew combat in the Vietnam War. This ought to be a fun read. But a funny thing happened on my way to the last chapter. Inexplicably, my whole perspective changed concerning a subject I thought I knew as well as any combat veteran can. Namely; who are heroes and who are not; and how can you tell the difference?
Brigadier General Richard M Baughn (USAF, Retired) is one of those rare authors who can pull a period of World War II history off a dusty book shelf and breathe fresh new life into it. In his latest book, The Hellish Vortex, he describes the air campaign in the European theater between 1943 and 1945, during which waves of American B-17 and B-24 bombers, escorted by P-38, P-40 and P-51 fighters, pounded Germany. In the same narrative, he chronicles the daily lives of the men who flew them. The result is pure magic; a book well worth reading. How did he do it? It's simple. For one thing, he is a good writer and for another, he flew P-51s in Europe during the same period. As the saying goes, he has been there, done that. It works every time!
The principal character in the book is 2nd Lt. Robb Baines, a nineteen year old fighter pilot who arrives in the U.K. underage and under trained for his new assignment flying P-51s and escorting bombers to Germany. Like most nineteen year olds, Baines, who I suspect is General Baughn's alter ego, secretly wonders if he is up to the task at hand. But tangling with German ME 109s and ME 110s is dangerous business with no margin for self doubt, as Baines quickly found out. In time, he became a seasoned combat veteran, a confident leader, and a candidate for bigger and better things in what would become the United States Air Force in 1947.
There are several other characters in the book worth mentioning. There is The Colonel, a veteran of the Spanish Civil War, the group commander who led his pilots with a calm steady hand; Big John, a sergeant whose well meaning support for the war effort included seducing the wife of a local chicken farmer to get eggs for the pilots' predawn breakfasts; and Rocco, Baines' long suffering wing man who lives his life with characteristic gritty, New York City bravado. These characters, and many others like them, add spice to an already well prepared dish. Speaking of spices, there is love, romance and sex in the book as well; but the author is careful not to let these asides draw him off the main theme.
One of the things I like about The Hellish Vortex, is that the author periodically inserted excerpts from a paper entitled The Army Air Forces and 8th Air Force during World War II, purportedly written by Baines while at The Armed Forces Staff College. These asides afford the reader a chance to take a break and look at the big picture. It was there that I learned things I never knew, or had forgotten, about the growth of American air power between World War I and 1947. And it was also there that I read a statistic I still can't get out of my mind; namely, There were 41,802 airmen killed in a force that never exceeded 100,000 pilots, navigators, bombardiers, and aerial gunners. This grim statistics reinforces something I have always suspected, namely: that it is tempting for warriors to tell their stories loudly, garnering praise and admiration wherever and whenever they can. But the plain truth is that not all warriors are heroes; just as not all heroes are warriors; and those that are, often prefer to speak softly in deference to the heroes that never made it home. It took a simple book, written by a talented, unassuming writer to confirm my suspicion.
You can buy The Hellish Vortex at Amazon.com. It is an excellent read.

Armed and Dangerous - The Deadliest Animals in the World
We all know from various nature programs that the wild is certainly no place for a human to be in. There are a lot of dangerous animals that can seriously cause you harm wherever you go. Be it in the American woods or the African savanna, people just have to accept that they share this world with some of the deadliest animals that have ever evolved. And seriously, if you think man is untouchable because of his technology, these killers can make a case for how vulnerable human beings are.
So what are some of the animals that cause the biggest number of human fatalities every year?
- The bear: This is definitely one of the largest of those included in this short list. The bear is one of those animals that don't usually hunt humans down for food but will definitely maul and even kill a human being if they feel threatened. And when you're about ten feet tall and you weigh thousands of pounds like the largest bears do, it isn't a really hard thing. So as much as possible try to avoid bears in the wild. It can save you a lot of trouble.
- The crocodile: Remaining virtually unchanged through millions of years of life on Earth means that you have a formula that really, really works. And the ambush killer known as the crocodile has perfected its killing technique to such an extent that it has retained more or less the same form that its ancestors had during the time of the dinosaurs. And unfortunately people in Africa, Asia and Australia have felt the brutal force that a crocodile can deliver to its victims. It's best to steer clear of the water's edge, especially at night, when they are most active.
- The scorpion: This little creature may not be the most massive animal on this list but it surely is here for a reason. Its small size can mask its presence from the unsuspecting. And the powerful venom of the most dangerous species like the African spitting scorpion can spell trouble even for grown men.

Understanding Guerrilla Warfare in the Modern Context
Guerrilla Warfare in simple terms means the effort of harassing an army by small armed bands. In other words, it is petty warfare. Generally we have 3 types of war i.e. total war, limited war and general war. The significance of Guerrilla warfare is that it is relevant to all these types of war.
Guerrilla Warfare is a form of warfare by which the strategically weaker side assumes the tactical offensive at places and times selected by it. History is witness to the fact that Guerrilla Warfare has never been resorted to by a militarily stronger side while mounting an offensive/attack. It is essentially the weapon of a strategically weaker side for tactical offensive at selected places and times.
This is borne out by any number of examples from history e.g. Russian partisans during German occupation/advance in World War II, China in the wake of Japanese occupation during World War II and more recently Afghanistan. A stronger side may resort to Guerrilla Warfare after it has been defeated e.g. Russian Guerrilla operations during the 2nd World War and the Taliban in Afghanistan. Having been ousted by the NATO forces the Taliban have regrouped as a guerrilla and terrorist force.
Guerrilla warfare is not a present day innovation. Historically, it was first fought in China in 360 BC (when emperor Huang employing guerrilla tactics succeeded in defeating the Miao race) and the concept has effectively survived through the centuries till the present day. "Guerrilla Warfare" means a little war and it has come to denote the irregular, non-professional civilian soldier who takes up arms to fight against professional military forces. The emphasis however, is not on taking over and retention of cities, townships or places. The primary, aim, as explained by Mao is to annihilate the fighting potentials, of the enemy. By continuously harassing the opponents with its 'hit and run' policy, a small troop of guerrillas successfully ties up a relatively larger body or soldiers. There are numerous examples where guerrilla warfare has achieved the purpose when conventional types of war have failed. History shows that Guerrilla Warfare has chiefly been the weapon of partisans, revolutionaries, rebels, communist inspired movements and more recently the vanguard of Islamic fundamentalism. During World War II in two years of combating partisans indulging in Guerrilla Warfare in Russia the German Army employed 300,000 soldiers.
Not only did the Army partisans tie up these troops but many a page in the German Wehrmacht archives is filled with descriptions which point to a feeling of hopelessness, growing in-intensity of nervousness and culminating into despair. Another example is that of Greece where 200,000 Nationalist troops were employed to combat only 30,000 Guerrillas. Another case is that of Fidel Castro of Cuba who with only 6,000 soldiers was able to overthrow the numerically very large Batista forces. It has been estimated that it takes approximately 10 regular soldiers to nullify one Guerrilla. By simple arithmetic, the number of troops needed to combat guerrillas could reach phenomenal figures. This is the basic military aim of a Guerrilla War i.e., to tie up and render immobile large bodies of regular soldiers and weaken their morale by waging a successful war of nerves. Though the military aim outlined above is basic, there are many Guerrilla operations conducted in which motives and purposes differ. For example, the motive of Soviet Guerrillas against the Germans during World War II was primarily to harass the German Rear and function as an intelligence agency. This objective varied from the motives of Ho-Chi-Minh of Indo China and Mao-Zedong in China, where their purposes were to overthrow the ruling government. Islamic fundamentalists are waging their war to establish their own brand of 'pure' Islamic religion.
There are certain characteristics identified with a Guerrilla Operations i.e., the exploitation of an unstable political situation, the gaining of popular support amongst the masses and the emphasis on the certain principles of war like concentration of force, advantageous use of the terrain and the effective use of the element of surprise. Of these, the political situation is of prime importance. No Guerrilla Warfare can be sustained without a political objective popular among the mass of people. Mao-ze-Dong states "If Guerrilla Warfare is without a political objective, it must fail. But, if it maintains a political objective which is incompatible with the political objective of the people there by failing to gain their support, then this too must fail". As opposed to a professional soldier, a Guerrilla is basically a civilian from the local population Popular Support once obtained, the Guerrilla becomes a formidable force which may numerically outnumber the Opposing troops, though it may lack in fire power.
There is no scope in the above case for Guerrilla Warfare to develop into a conventional war. The Guerrilla activities ceases the moment the regular troops launch an offensive. There is no example of any Guerrilla operations during a successful advance of a regular army.
However, once the Guerrilla is fighting an established army, it is only the beginning of a conventional war. As there is no recorded instance of a pure Guerrilla operation in the strictest term of overthrowing a National Government the conversion at a later stage after the weakening of the opposing army to conventional war and physical control is a natural corollary to Guerrilla Warfare.
Thus, Guerrilla Warfare is a phase of Warfare that cannot by itself attain complete victory. China, North Vietnam all started off as Guerrilla operations. But, once the opposing regular army was exhausted, the conventional methods of war were adopted, to gain total victory. This is what happened in Vietnam. The early stages of the guerrilla operations of the Viet Cong had towards the end turned into a full scale conventional war. No amount of Aerial bombing could alter the result.
A number of Guerrilla fighters have made a name for themselves in history and some have achieved almost legendary fame. The last world war produced at least half a dozen such men, the First World War a Lawrence, the South Africa war a De Wet the American civil war Mosby and, of course one can always think of 'Che', Garibaldi and Shivaji. In contrast, not a single anti-partisan fighter had made a name for himself. This clearly sums up the fact as to the almost total invincibility of a Guerrilla Operation. But on the positive side it must be said that it is only now the real menace of Guerrilla Warfare is being understood.
The western democracies and India including Russia and China are confronted with a new development - the rise of Islamic fundamentalism. Countering it will be the challenge of the 21st century.

The Police and the 26/11 Terror Attack in Mumbai
Recently one of my friends while going through a job portal on the net came across an opening asking for a head of security. But what intrigued him was a line that stated service personnel (armed forces) are not preferred. I would have dismissed such an ad as a joke but for the fact that serious issues are involved. Probably the advertiser wanted men from the civil side and perhaps from the Police. The Advertisement shows a serious flaw in the thinking of some people who cannot reconcile to the fact that as on date the unity of the country is only because of the army and its presence in remote areas of the country.
The terrorist attack of 26/11 is worth examining and the efficacy of the Mumbai police can be examined in the background of whether the Police are a patch on the army in such matters. The 26/11 attack was master minded from Pakistan and a group of hard core terrorist was deputed to attack installations in Mumbai. The terrorists attacked a number of important landmarks like the Taj hotel, The Oberai, Leopold Café and CST railway station and spread mayhem and terror all around.
What was the response of the Police before the Army intervened? The response can be gauged from the following
The terrorists landed from the sea at Cuffe parade and the nearby police station had no clue. This was because of a lack of surveillance system and no local intelligence at all. Not a happy thing for a police force that is supposed to be the eyes and ears of the onset of any crime.
Even when the first news of gun fire reached police headquarters most police showed their ignorance and assumed it was some local gangster from Bhendi Bazaar. Thus the seriousness of the situation was not gauged. This points to s serious lacuna in appreciating the conduct of terrorist and their ilk
The ATS chief and his men needlessly died as they took the entire episode casually. Having no knowledge of terror attacks and ensconced in plush offices these men never appreciated the gravity of the situation and moved about as if they were dealing with petty criminals. Not withstanding their bravery, the other members of the police force made no attempt to reach them and allowed them to die. This points to a serious lacuna in morale and training,
While the attack on the Leopold restaurant was underway, no police from the nearby Colaba police station emerged, which is just a stones throw from the café. This inaction has never been explained. Was it the element of fear?
The Police failed to act and nab the terrorists as they had no appreciation of the terror attacks and at each stage of operations showed their inaptitude. Even the ex Police Commissioner in a report to the government commented on the attitude and cowardice of some of the senior police officials.
Thus when all is said and done Advertisements like the one issued on one of he job portals need to be seriously reviewed. The Police in India cannot match the Army and to deny the forces their place in the sun is a calamity that perhaps is not understood by such advertisers.

Scholarships For Military Dependents
Is your mother or father in the military? Or perhaps another close family member has served or is serving in the armed forces. If so, you may have had a lot of time to think about what you personally want to do in the future. College or university may be a part of your dreams, but finding the money to fund education is tough. That is why scholarships for military dependents are so beneficial.
Military dependents are considered to be people who are the sons, daughters or other dependents of active or retired military personnel. That includes all the armed forces:
Army
Navy
Marines
Air Force
Coast Guard
Scholarships are available to almost everyone, but some are specifically tailored for certain demographics and minority groups. Military scholarships, and particularly those for people related to armed services personnel, are perfect for people like you who really want to undertake further education but need a helping financial hand.
But the good news is that these scholarships are also available to people in the military, even if you are retired. Life does not end just because you are no long serving. You can now move on to a new career and going to college is the first step in the right direction.
It can cost $10,000 or more to complete a college degree. Having your tuition fees paid for is a big deal and a massive help. But scholarships can also cover other expenses like:
- Books
- Computer or laptop
- Software
- Travel to and from campus (if you aren't studying online)
- Family related expenses
No Student Loans
Student loans are costly and must be repaid. Scholarships never have to be repaid so they should be your first choice.
Scholarships for military dependents and armed services personnel are the #1 way to get the money you need to go to school.
